ANOTHER ZOMBIE ATTACK!

Ok, I’m just kidding, there hasn’t been another one…but there does seem to be something strange going on.

Click Here – A series of News Clicks in the last few weeks building up to the Florida attack and an interview with police that say this is one of a few recent, but similar attacks.

EDIT: wow…another “Zombie Attack”

Click Here – New Zombie Attack: Louisiana Man Carl Jacquneaux Bites Chunk of Victim’s Face Off

“A Louisiana man is in custody after allegedly biting the face off of another man. This latest “zombie” crime is at least the fourth reported cannibalistic incident since a Florida man stripped naked and chewed 80% of the face off a homeless victim.
Law Enforcement officials in Scott, Lousiana, confirmed that Car Jacquneaux, 43, attacked an unnamed victim and, using his teeth, tore parts of the man’s face off.
“During the attack, the suspect bit a chunk of the victim’s face,” said assistant police chief Kert Thomas. “He was clearly under the influence of some kind of drug.”

EDIT: EDIT: Holy crap…ANOTHER “Zombie like attack”.

Click Here – Brandon De Leon

De Leon tried to bite officers, growling and screaming he would eat them.

“At the station, De Leon tried to bite the officer taking his blood pressure, and police note that he also “growled and opened and closed his jaw slamming his teeth like an animal would.”"

Pretty crazy stuff! Do I think there is a real zombie Apocalypse coming? No, I don’t. But I do find it fascinating that a substance can be introduced to a person that can literally turn the human mind into a zombie like rage. Growling, violent, no fear, with a desire to eat human flesh and near super human strength and durability. The fact that its even POSSIBLE is a little off putting, because any time there is something possible….there is always someone crazy enough to want to make it happen.

I thought about this the other day when I read about the Florida zombie guy..I was like what would I have if hell broke loose, right then…what would I have to work with… Luckily I do have some things from hunting, camping and hiking.

This is not, by any means, what I would RECOMMEND going to get for disaster prep. This was an inventory of what I own right NOW, and what I would have that might be useful if I was surpirsed by a total melt down and a zombie Apocalypse went down today.
1. LifeSaver Water Purifier – Its for camping, but it would be useful during another hurricane or Zombie attack.

The LIFESAVER bottle is the World’s first water bottle to remove all bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, fungi and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens without the aid of any foul tasting chemicals like iodine which is now banned substance within the EU. LIFESAVER complies with all British, US and European Drinking Water Regulations for Microbiological Reduction as tested and certified by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.

Note: A lot of people don’t know this, if water is ever shut off in your house….you have about 2 days worth of drinkable water in you hot water heater. If its zombieland, and you are no where near any fresh water…you can ransack homes for the water in their water heaters. I would probably still use a purifier like the one I have to be extra safe though. (especially if time has passed..but like I said, it is completely drinkable as is)

2.Mathews Solo Cam MQ1 Compound Bow

This is my baby, its got about $1000.00 put into it. Its good to know how to hunt for food, incase of the collapse of society. Incase of a zombie apocalypse you can’t beat a high powered, silent killer…with reusable ammo.

3.Bushmaster Survival Knife

This is a survival knife, its pretty bad ass…and pretty large. It came with a lot of little survival things, some cool, some more novelty that I replaced with my own stuff. A good knife would be ideal for any emergency…especially this one in a zombie apacalpyse…because its fucking gigantic =D

4.Gamo Silent Cat Air Rifle

This is a pretty bad ass Pellet gun, would be great for hunting small game or self defense…and you can easily carry a ridiculous amount of ammo with you that is really light.

Its surprisingly quiet for how powerful it is and even though it is a pellet gun, it is a powerful one that you would NOT want to get hit with. Mostly though, it would be good to kill a few birds, squirrels, rabbits etc if you needed food.

People have taken out things as big as a fox with it.

And Here is a guy shooting an apple

5.Hiking/Climbing Hydration Backpack
This is a light back back, with a hydro bladder in it so that I can bring water along with me when I’m hiking or climbing. Inside of it I have a lot of little goodies that would be good to have in case of an emergency….this pack isn’t large..but would be good anytime you needed to scout out. If you had to venture out and go hunting or scavenge, it would allow you to carry what you need, and not only BRING water with you….if you were out and FOUND water and needed to bring it back…this would let you.

Other Items Inside:
Handwarmers
Fishing Hooks and line
Emergency Thermal Blankets
Lighter
Water proof Matches
Fire starting kits
Mirror
Couple Bags of M.R.E’s for emergency food
Gloves
Multivitamins

6.U.S. Air Force Survival Handbook

I’ve had this for awhile, and I always keep it in my bag when I go camping or hunting as a small failsafe. A lot of people in the military agree that the U.S. Air Force Survival handbook is one of the best ones out an it has some really good information in it, with a lot of details. Like the back says, it has…

“First aid for illness and injury, finding your way without a map, building a fire, finding food and water, using ropes and tying knots, mountain survival, concealment techniques, signaling for help, survival at sea, building shelters, animal tracking, predicting the weather and much more”.

…and it does. Its really a great book to use for reference or learning new things.

7.Paracord Bracelets

Nothing special, but its always good to have a bunch of these..you never know when you will need rope.

8.Hand Pump Flashlight

Photobucket

This is good for anything, whether camping or your power goes out…or any other time because as long as it isn’t broke…you’ll have light. All you do is pump it, and that pumping action provides the power to light the flashlight.

9. Collapsable Shovel

Photobucket

Nothing special here, self explanatory. Something that is always in my bag and I’m sure I would find use for.

10.Multi-Tool

Photobucket

This is a must have, it gives you a lot of things on one tool. Knife, saw, bottle opener, philip’s and flat head screw driver, pliers, wire cutter etc.

11. Wolverine Claws

Photobucket

Photobucket

This has no real world application…but it is bad ass. This would really only have possible use in a self defense situation, or a zombie apocalypse but when talking about this scenario, I have to include it =D

12. Food Source

Photobucket

Photobucket

I don’t have anything fancy, I grow a few garden veggies. It wouldn’t sustain me, but it would help better than nothing…and I could at least take the seeds and start somewhere bigger if I needed to. At least having a general understanding on how to grow your own food, is a plus. If you have a little space in you back yard, I would do it. Its nice having fresh tomatoes or peppers or even salad, fresh out of your own yard.

For those of you that live in apartments, they actually have indoor hydroponic, layered gardens that plant miniature food. You can basically grow everythin you’d put in a salad, and grow the lettuce as well. Cherry tomatoes, onions, lettuce etc. And it’s small enough to fit on balcony or even inside your apartment and you’d grow it like people grow weed to smoke =D

13. Camouflage – Ghillie Suit

This is good for not only hunting, but scouting out or traveling anywhere in a world were chaos rules. The ability to choose when you can be seen and when you can’t is a huge plus. I have a ghillie suit for hunting and I also always wear it, with this freaky skeleton mask on Halloween.

It is amazing how easily you blend in, even in urban areas. The great thing is, you can wear almost anything under it. Its really elastic and you can quickly pull the pants up and throw the jaket over every day clothes and BAM.. you can vanish.

Note: You can get these for like 20.00 – 40.00 at like academy. Or you can go big and get some really fancy ones for more.

Here is the suit when I wore it on halloween last year. (It was literally the funniest night ever, I scared so many people it was ridiculous)

Here is how well it works…in the DAY time.

Here is flat on the ground, at night. If the flash wasn’t on, you wouldn’t see anything at all.

Here is another on the ground

And one just simply standing infront of a fence.

These are close ups, and your expecting to look for something camouflaged, so they are more noticeable. In real life, you go unnoticed. On halloween night, I would literally lay on the grass and people would walk right past me and I’d jump up and scare the shit out of them. The point is, this stuff works great in the woods, but you’d be surprised how well it works in everyday neighborhoods.

14. Tent and Kayaks

Photobucket

I don’t know how much I would want to stay in a tent in a zombie Apocalypse, but other disaster scenario’s, you might want to get out of the city and until you build yourself another shelter, its nice to have something to sleep in.

Or even IN a zombie Apocalypse, depending on where you live…cities, mean people..and people = potential zombies. So taking off out into the woods, deep, and setting up camp until the dust clears…wouldn’t be a bad idea…as long as you could set up some traps and warning signals.

The inflatable kayaks would be good as well. I have a lot of water and rivers around me… I have two jetski’s, but they are gas hogs so I don’t know how much help they would be. If I needed to get across water, I’d use these.

Im going to also assume zombies can’t swim, so If I need to travel to different parts of my city, there are canals that run deep in to the urban areas with a lot of places I could pop out at. So I could use them to travel quietly and hopefully, where zombies aren’t walking around =D

….so, chances are..a real zombie apocalypse is not on its way, but with real life disasters like hurricane Ike, or Katrina, the way the economy is going, how dependent we are on electricity and how fragile it is. It isn’t ridiculous to think about being prepared for large scale disasters. Every major civilization has had large scale problems and times of death. Every empire thats ruled, has fallen and chances are….it will happen again. How would you fair if it happened today? When you go home, imagine if you had to live there with no water or power for the next 2 weeks or even the next month.

Imagine if you had to protect your home and there was no police or government to help, could you do it?
