BJJ Street Fight: Hooters

This video reminds me of what a lot of BJJ practitioners experience. They do Jiu-jitsu and their skeptical, egotistical and or bigger friends think its bullshit and always want to challenge them…especially when they get drunk. Sometimes we oblige them, especially if we happen to be drunk too..and it always ends up in with some variation of this.

  1. That guy has the greatest southern accent I have ever heard! I’m pretty sure he used to do the narration on the Dukes of Hazard! Please tell me his name is Skeeter!

  2. Trust me man…..there is ALOT of history between me and that little fartknocker….we went a.solid month where we fought eachother every weekend….we both train gracie barra as well so rather it be at hooters or on the mats hes always pickin on me! But thanx for the advice….i guess next time ill just try to squish him!

  3. I take my chicken wings seriously! On another note…in your instructional videos it shows an escape from the standing rear naked choke and it says to “base and get control of the wrist and elbow and then flip them over your back….but what the hell am I supposed to do when they have hooks in via feet??

    • Besides tucking your chin and falling back on him while he falls on concrete? ;P

A typical basic back control escape is two on one wrist control, if you have both of your hands on his right hand…you lift it up and over your head to the left and then use his arm to turn into him rotating to your left into his guard.
Doing this points all his weapons away from you and give you the ability to recover and advance your position :)

  4. sir,
As the losing opponent in this fight i feel the need to defend my actions!!! I absolutley understood the circumstances in which i was involving myself!!! This is a good friend of mine and a respected blue belt in the our local bjj community. Ive trained a countless amount of times with this guy and KNEW i would lose!! We indeed were drunk and this is what happens when the two of us have a little to much to drink!! Yes im bigger, but im not egotistacal and im not skeptical about the perfection of this style of fighting!! If you take the time to listen to the commentary you can clearly hear me say “im about to get choked out” What you should fear sir is when guys my size are 4 stripe blue belts!!!!!

    • I’m sorry you got offended…but if you read, I said this video is an ILLUSTRATION of what BJJ practitioners experience. Which is true, regardless of what happened that night with you two guys.

Two guys/friends get Drunk, one guy is bigger, one does bjj and the big guy wants to fight/roll. I also stated that it is usually some variation of this. Meaning that what I described may not be exactly what happened in the video…but that its usually close to this, plus or minus a few facts.

As far as commentary goes, its a little hard to hear anything except the hilarious guy behind the camera. Additionally, if you don’t like to be on public display, maybe you should fight people on camera in public restaurant parking lots.

That being said, I’m glad you got to tell your side of the story. Definitely sheds some light on the video and welcome to internet startdom :)

    • How about this, I’ll clarify the description a little bit :)

      • Look i took the last chicken wing from tiny… and things got out of control… our relationship has since then stablized… i love you tiny…

    • Also, I listened to the commentary….and I clearly hear “Skinny guy” say….”Your the one who called me out”. lol soooooooo I was kind of point on :D

Glad you got a good sense of humor about it all though.
