Dana White announced today that Fedor Emilienenko will be done with the Zuffa owned Strikeforce.
“The Last Emperor,” once seen as the most dominant heavyweight in mixed martial arts, has had rough times in the Strikeforce cage, posting a 1-3 record after a 28 fight win streak before his first appearance for Strikeforce. Fedor has lost 3 consecutive fights since winning his promotion debut.
His losses are none to be ashamed of, however. His first loss was to Fabricio Werdum via triangle armbar. He followed that loss with a doctors stoppage against a much larger Antonio Silva, resulting in his elimination from the Strikeforce Grand Prix. His last loss came at the end of a back and forth brawl against Dan Henderson. Henderson ended up getting the best of the Last Emperor with a clean uppercut to the jaw.
Emelienenko holds notable wins over Mark Coleman twice, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira twice, Andre Arlovski and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.
