The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil – Coaches will be Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva

Brazilian Brawlers  Wanderlei Silva (34-11-1 MMA, 4-6 UFC)  and Vitor Belfort (20-9 MMA, 9-5 UFC) will serve as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.”

UFC president Dana White today announced the selections during a pre-UFC 142 press conference in Rio de Janeiro.

The two will coach opposing teams on the first-ever international edition of “TUF,” which in March debuts on Globo, and will oppose each other following the conclusion of the series.

Belfort will still face Anthony Johnson at January’s UFC 142 event.

“The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” will be produced by Brazilian firm Floresta and air as part of the UFC’s broadcast deal with Globo. The series is expected to feature 12 taped episodes in addition to a live finale.

While FUEL TV is expected to air the show in the U.S., UFC president Dana White has yet to officially announce a stateside broadcast partner.

  1. Dissapointed (to say the least) with the coaches. They missed a great opportunity to put some actual coaches on the show! Pederneiras vs Cordeiro would have been an amazing way to see some propper coaching in action.

    • I think that Wanderlei holds a lot of Brazilians hearts and Dana knows this….I think he knows a lot of fighters respect him and when coupled with the fact that he came back and smashed Cung Le, it makes sense why they did.

    • Well, yeah, but I don’t want to see coaches fight at the end of the season! LOL

  2. Its hard to say who will win……the heart and toughness is with Wand, easy. But Victor is not called Phenom for no reason..
